Enough signal to improve. No reader dossiers.

/human measures whether a field note changes what happens next. It does not need to know your name to do that.

A random identifier in your browser lets us distinguish a first visit from a return. That is the closest this site gets to knowing who you are.

What is measured

Pages read, active reading time, maximum article depth, coarse country and device class, sanitized referrer, movement to another field note, use of an agent field manual, and one-tap article feedback.

What is not collected

No name, email address, IP address in the publication’s analytics database, raw user agent, fingerprint, keystrokes, free-text response, advertising profile, or session replay.

Your browser gets a vote

Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control are honored. Enable either and the reader-behavior tracker does not start. Cloudflare still processes ordinary network requests to serve and protect the site.

Why keep any of it

Traffic is not impact. The useful question is whether a reader reached the operating consequence, handed the manual to an agent, changed the next move, and came back. The data exists to answer that question and to remove work that does not.
